Below you'll find answers to the most common questions we usually get regarding our workflow, technical stuff, payment options, etc. If you can't find what you looking for please don't hesitate to contact us!
What services do you offer?
We offer a full range of web development services, including WordPress,
E-Commerce, PSD to HTML/CSS, Mobile Response Design, and PSD to Newsletter. We slice your
design and code it into valid, semantic and compliant xHTML/CSS or HTML5/CSS3. We can also implement your design as
a Theme for WordPress. Each page that is coded by us will be SEO friendly and compatible with ALL browsers.
What would be the average turn-around time for slicing?
PSDgator offers high quality services fast. You will receive a coded page from your design, images, and “read me”
instructions in just two working days.
What is your average delivery time frame for a responsive WordPress development?
As you already know it all depends on how complicated and difficult a project is. A regular Responsive WordPress Theme with a Homepage and the regular internal Templates (Blog, News, Contact, Archives, 404, etc), will take around 4 days to complete. I included PSDs to Responsive and the WordPress Theme.
What types of design files do you accept?
We accept almost any graphic file type from Photoshop (PSD, layered PNG, layered TIFF), Illustrator, PDF and Sketch.
Also if your designs are in InDesign you can export a layered PDF.
Is it possible to get the original PSD files returned, with the sliced regions saved in Photoshop? Our project
requires this for future changes.
Yes we can return the slices if required. Please don't forget to request them.
Do you offer technical support?
If you've got a problem with installation after you receive the coded page, or don't understand the instructions,
you can contact us and we will do anything we can to answer and solve your problems quickly.
I would like for someone to give me a call to go over the project. Is this possible?
Yes! We are happy to call you on your landline phone, cell phone, or Skype.
I want to talk to you. What's your Skype address?
Our Skype ID is a.papamichail and our landline phone is +30 2311 251 630
What is your availability like currently?
We're available to start on a new project right away. Even tomorrow, Monday morning.
How many people are in your team and what are their skill sets?
We're 6 developers, including me, although I mostly do project managing and quality testing. I started PSDgator but for the last couple of years, I'm trying to focus on running everything smoothly.
We focus on converting designs into Responsive HTML/CSS and then (if it's requested), we integrate everything into WordPress, based on the client's specs. We work with Photoshop, Illustrator and Sketch and we do all the slicing by hand. About coding we don't use any automated tools of course. Everything by hand using simple editors like Sublime. We can do great things with jQuery as well. We love Bootstrap, BEM, SASS/LESS, and we can use them only if requested. If not, we can work normally but again nothing automated or using HTML/CSS that is not needed.
If you are interested about our work please visit our Portfolio.
What sets you apart from your competitors?
We're a small team but we keep good quality and we try to be there when a client needs us, even on weekends. For example today a client needed his website up on his GoDaddy server so he can start working on it before Monday, so I was here to do the job. We're very strong on support and we try to deliver good quality, like this is our own product and business.
Will you mention your name somewhere in the code?
No. All rights will go directly to our clients. Our name won't appear in XHTML or CSS.
Do you have a money-back guarantee?
Yes. If you request a refund before we begin slicing your design, or if you're not fully satisfied with our work,
we'll give you a refund.
Can you upload my HTML/CSS files to my server?
Yes. If you provide us with the FTP details of your hosting server, then we will be happy to upload it.
Can you help me with the installation of my theme?
We can install your fresh theme on your server. You just to provide to us with the following details:
a. FTP/SFTP access
b. URL of your site
c. phpMyAdmin access (if available)
If WordPress is not installed on your server, we can install it for you. We will need the following details:
a. Control Panel of the server (cPanel) or
a. Host of the MySQL server
b. Login and password for database
c. Database name
If any content is already present on the site please let us know beforehand.
For installation and setup we usually charge a nominal fee on an hourly basis.
Do you comment on your coded page?
Yes. After job is completed, you will have a well-structured and notated CSS.
Our designer lost the original PSD file. Can you work with the JPEG version?
This should not be a problem. We can slice any straightforward design image (JPG, GIF, TIF, PNG, BMP etc.) to
Are there any specific guidelines for setting up the PSD files?
There are no special guidelines. Just organize your graphics and pages in Layers and Layer Groups and you will be
You can put the roll-overs in different, hidden Layers and describe those to your specifications. The same applies
Could you please tell me a bit more about your methods and working practices?
Over the years we established a lot of ground rules and specifications that we need to follow in order to deliver good quality. We wrote a lot of lists of specifications we need to follow. If a client specifies that he needs BEM and SASS on Bootstrap, we can do that as well. Actually we love BEM because it keeps everything very organized. The problem is that most of our clients are Agencies that already have developers on their teams so we need to follow their way.
About WordPress Themes, we like the Requirements and Recommendations or WordPress.org Themes (required & recommended). There are a great way to follow rules to write great Themes. For example we follow the Naming and Templating system from WordPress.org.
Here is a also an example process of how we work on a WordPress project:
a. Client send's us all the designs in Photoshop together with all the Fonts (if needed). We also get some specifications about each Page and how they should work on WordPress. We check all the layers and we email back that everything is good and we're getting started with the project. b. We finish the first page (probably Homepage) in Responsive HTML/CSS and we send a ZIP to the client so he can test it. We also upload it to our Dev Server and send the URL. c. Client sends feedback so we can do any changes and also continue with the rest of the pages. d. All HTML pages are done, tested and all feedback is done. e. We start with the WordPress site and client can see our progress on our Dev Server. We email the client on a daily basis so they can send feedback, test the site, etc. f. Site is done and tested. We can deliver the Files/Database or upload it to a server.
There are a lot of bad front-end developers and wordpress developers who employ coding standards. Do you keep up to date with modern best practice techniques?

No, you don't have to. We will automatically send you an invoice by email.
For multiple pages of 2-3 different page designs, what would the additional cost be?
The price depends on the complexity of the pages, but a regular price would be $169 per page. We also give a 25%

Can you provide us with an estimate for an average WordPress template site?
A regular WordPress theme with two different layouts for Homepage and internal pages costs about $350-$400.

secondary pages) we would charge $169 for each template. Then, depending on the level of customization for the pages

We can convert your newsletter design to a fully working HTML newsletter that will be compatible with all the
major email clients including Outlook Express/2000/2003/2007.
Can you make some fixes to my existing pages?
Although we prefer to do all the code from scratch we can always check your site and most probably we will be able to help.
I've send a Homepage and Internal page design. Will I get the standard HTML/CSS styles by default, or do I have to
You will receive a standard psd html style template that a designer can fill out to show paragraph spacing, h1,
h2, h3, links, lists, etc. This way, it gets included in the markup assignment. When HTML is created as a template
to use in a CMS, everything works smoothly. Of course, this would just be a template. You may also want to set up a
resource library of psd styles that designers can implement in their designs. You would have a majority of the css
already scanned and ready for action.
